I was first informed about Girls Design the World by my chemistry teacher, only four days before the application was due. As I learned more about the program, I knew I needed to apply. The idea of working with other girls on a subject I'm extremely passionate about--the environment--excited me. I also knew that this would be a great opportunity to empower girls who want to go into male-dominated careers. I want to help girls realize that they can do whatever they want to if they set their mind to it; I felt GDW would allow me to do this. I'm extremely excited to be in this program, and I can't wait to see what this new year will bring!
