My name is Zayana. I am a 16 year old at St. George’s Girls Secondary School and I am in form 2 (like a sophomore in the U.S.). My hobbies include cooking, eating, swimming, playing football and reading. I am fascinated by anything to do with science, technology, and art; art allows me to express myself and my emotions, and helps me clear my mind.

I really love the environment because it surrounds us daily and has the ability to influence life either positively or negatively. If you take good care of it, it will serve you well. Destroy it...and it revenges by bringing about problems such as floods and diseases. I believe we should strive to take good care of our environment since polluting it can be a health hazard. I support the campaign against environmental pollution—LET’S GO GREEN.

My experience in the STEAM programme has been an amazing one all the way, and the fact that we are helping to solve the aforementioned problems through design thinking is awesome. It has enabled me to see another side of life as well as the challenges people face on a daily basis while trying to survive. I would love to make a change in the lives of those struggling by ensuring the challenges they are facing are on their way to solution.
