I am Christiana, and I go to Armstrong High School in Robbinsdale. A few months ago, I overheard a friend of mine talking about applying for what sounded like an amazing opportunity at Mia. I was immediately pretty interested, but after being told more about it, I was hooked. I have always been passionate about art and science, and math is one of my best subjects--I knew I had to apply.
When I heard I was accepted to Girls Design the World I got so excited to be a part of something that could make such an impact on my community. Working with all the amazing girls in Africa inspires me every day to remind myself and others of all the little things we can to do to make our world a better place. I hope that this opportunity will help me to expand my horizons and outlooks on life both educationally and socially. I also hope that I can influence those around me to start making a change in their lives as well, in order to truly make a difference in our world today.
